Do you already have a list of all your Computer MAC addresses and the desired computer names in a spreadsheet?

Well now, you can use those spreadsheets to do a mass import into the K2000 so the names can automatically be applied during deployment as a post install task.

It great for education sector and large deployments runs needed by your company.

If you already have a list of all your Computer MAC addresses and the desired computer names in a spreadsheet, you can export that list as a CSV (comma separated file).

Then use the converter below to generate the files the K2000 uses to store the names to be used during deployment.

CSV Converter

CSV format should have no headers and should be First column as the MAC Address and second Column as Computer name then save as CSV.

The converter will zip up all the files; export the files in the zip (remove the files from the zip) into the K2000 Petemp shared directory “Your_K2000_Address/petemp”

Please select a file to convert:

Use the Set Computer Name Task to automatically assign the computer name as a mid level post install task. You will not need the Get Computer name task as the process above has already got the name ready to be set by the K2000.
